ART
Laugerie Basse is an exceptional site for the number, the diversity and, often, the quality of the works or art excavated over decades: over 600! The art in Laugerie Basse dates back solely to the Magdalenians, precisely the second half of the Magdalenian era, i.e. undoubtedly the most brilliant as far as Art is concerned (15,000 - 10,000 years ago).
You will see some replicas of the most beautiful pieces (exhibition room and slide shows). Originals have been scattered throughout the world: National Museum of Prehistory in Les Eyzies, Saint Germain en Laye National Museum, MusÈe de l'Homme in Paris, British Museum, Berlin Museum.
